Friends, SUNCOAST PET IS BEING SUED!
Cindy Watson, Candy’s mom, and I, personally, have also been sued for “conspiracy” and “defamation” of the killer’s “reputation,” despite the fact that we NEVER mentioned the pup’s killer by name in the magazine or on the Justice for Candy website or Facebook page.
The self-defense verdict delivered by the jury in June 2022 was devastating, especially because the gentle, 5-year-old pup was never closer than 6 to 8 feet from her killer, and there were no bites, torn clothing or any signs of aggression whatsoever.
Candy simply barked to let her dad know that a stranger was approaching, and she was shot and killed.
Cindy and I are being sued for $150,000 PLUS exorbitant attorney fees, and we have hired an attorney to represent us in the civil case, which is tentatively scheduled for December 2023.
SUNCOAST PET WILL NOT SURVIVE THIS KIND OF FINANCIAL LOSS…CINDY AND I WILL NOT SURVIVE, EITHER…
…and that is the intention of Candy’s killer and his attorney.
Our legal fees already exceed $20,000, and I am sure they will more than double by the time the case is heard before a judge and jury six months from now.
We are being bullied and punished because we spoke out to try to prevent the senseless killing of our beloved four-legged family members, with hopes of winning the case and moving forward in changing Florida’s antiquated laws that view our pets as no more than “pieces of property.”
